Who We Are
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul was founded in 1833. Their mission was to help clothe and feed the poor. The Society flourished and spread throughout Europe and was introduced to the United States in 1845 in St. Louis, Missiouri. Today there are over 900,000 members in over 150 countries carrying out the mission to serve the poor.
The St Vincent de Paul Conference was formed in January of 2000 at St Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in Temecula, Ca. Our mission is to serve the needs of the local community and the surrounding area of Riverside County. We provide a food pantry, and when funds are available provide help with rent, utilities, auto expenses and overnight motel stays.
What We Do
Our core service is our weekly food pantry, where volunteers distribute nutritious groceries, including fresh meat, poultry and fish, canned goods, dried items, dairy, bakery and fresh produce to local residents experiencing food insecurity. Every Friday morning, we open our doors to offer not just food, but dignity and hope to those struggling to make ends meet. In addition to food assistance, we extend outreach to individuals in distress, including the unhoused and those facing difficult life circumstances, providing comfort, resources, and a caring presence. With the help and support of our Donors, Parishioners and various Ministries from St Catherine's Catholic Church we celebrate seasonal events.
How You Can Help
The heart of our work lies in the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of our community. Whether it's helping distribute food, sorting donations, offering administrative support, or lending a compassionate ear, volunteers make a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of others. We welcome individuals, families, and groups who wish to give back and be part of something truly transformative. Together, we can continue to uplift our neighbors and build a more compassionate, connected community.
